"Bass fishing in Florida can be broken down into four
simple seasons. While bass can be caught all year in Central
Florida, Some seasons are better than others."
Capt. Rob Murchie with All Florida Bass Guide Services.
November - January ...
Pre Spawn is a great time to catch very aggressive bass.
They are trying to bulk up before sitting on beds and
spawning. Pre spawn bass fishing is exciting and can keep
you on your toes. Pre Spawn patterns are exciting for lures
using fast crank baits for hard hitting action, and top
water for great explosions.
February to April ...
Spawn is when the big ones are being caught. This is the
time for slower methods such as worms and Jigs. Of course
for the real big largemouth bass try using large Golden Wild
Shiners. Live bait for bass fishing this time of year
produces bigger fish and better results.
May - June ...
Post Spawn is also a great time for catching the
transitional bass as the water starts warming up and bass
migrate to deeper, cooler waters. Here catching them in
deeper water requires slower and deeper crank baits, jerk
baits and worms. Bigger fish are still possible during this
time.
June to November ...
June to November is basically slower, deeper fishing as
the bass mostly only move during mornings and late
afternoons. Water temperatures are warmer and bass are
typically slower and more lethargic.
